Matsugi Fujio - Gakuto Shutsujin - 1966

Numerous photographic plates. Japanese text. Large 8 vol. Original cloth in dustwrapper, opi, and plastic wrapper. A very good copy. 153pp. Matsugi Fujio was born in 1903 in Kyoto. During the early Showa period he won various prizes in photographic magazines and from 1935 onwards he became a freelance photographer. His main strength was in the field of portraits and human studies. The present book published some twenty years after the war shows the training of Naval cadets during the early 40s and represents one of the best expamples of 'patriotic photography'.
