Shinzo Fukuhara - Musashino Fubutsu - 1943

Fukuhara Shinzo is the editor of this book and although he continued a number of images himself, most of the work is by the other photographers. The beautiful plains of Musashino have been a popular subjuect of poetry since the Heian period (794-1185) and in Japanese art renditions of pampas grass with bush clover inevitably refer Musashino. Fukuhara's selection captures the gentle and lyrical atmosphere of waka poetry.
