Several photographic plates and numerous illustrations. Shasib Siochi was a journal of photography criticism written from the perspective of contemporary art. Each issue was devoted to a special topic, such as "Eroticism of the gaze." With such writers as Taki Koji and Kashiwagi Hiroshi, the journal actively incorporated the latest ideas in semiotics, sociology, and literary criticism, attempting to create a "paradigm of photographic theory." Publishing was discontinued with the twelveth issue.
