M Meurer - Vergleichende Formenlehre des Ornamentes und der Pflanze - 1909

Architectural Art forms of Plants is finely illustrated in Black and White with text in German decribing in detail the species of plants and their defining features. Meurer was originally commissioned by the Prussian Board of Trade and Education to find material to aid in the instruction of drawing plants. This book greatly influenced Blossfeldt's photography work and many other artists who tranformed these plant images into decoration and ornament.
