Munich: Galerie Heiner Friedrich, 1967. Poster, folded three times as issued, with resultant creasing. Offset-lithographic poster printed with white lettering on black background recto. The text is printed to appear to twist and torque, giving the impression of viewed in perspective. Verso of poster printed with a photograph of two of the larger exhibited works, 5 Türen (5 Doors) and 4 Glasscheiben (4 Panes of Glass), together with the artist's exhibition history and a list of exhibited works. Richter’s exhibition at the Galerie Heiner Friedrich ran from May 2 to June 4, 1967. The thirty exhibited works included several grey landscape paintings, pornographic works as well as Richter’s landmark installation 4 Glasscheiben (4 Panes of Glass) which was conceived as a response to The Large Glass by Marcel Duchamp. This poster, the only original printed record of the exhibition, was designed by the legendary duo of graphic designers from Munich, Pierre Mendell and Klaus Oberer.
